Ethical Expectations Policy

Our Ethical Expectations Policy explains: What We Anticipate from Sellers Who Work With Production Partners

Trust is the foundation of Food Prepped’s marketplace and community. When you work with a production partner, we expect you will make wise and educated decisions. That means knowing that the businesses you collaborate with conform with all applicable laws, including safety, labour, and employment laws.

While Food Prepped does not review or approve production partners, we do anticipate your consideration to the following standards when choosing production partners to work with:

1. No child labour or youth labour. Any production partner you decide to work with must follow all local laws and rules concerning working hours and working conditions for minors.

2. No involuntary labour. Production partners should not use involuntary labour, including slave labour, prison labour, indentured labour or forced labour.

3. Humane working conditions. Work with production partners who provide compassionate working hours for their employees and who do not use any form of physical or psychological intimidation or bullying against their workers.

4. Non-discrimination. Per our Anti-Discrimination Policy, there should be no tolerance for discrimination based on:

  • Race
  • Colour
  • Ethnicity
  • National origin
  • Religion
  • Gender
  • Gender identity
  • Sexual orientation
  • Disability
  • Any other characteristic protected under applicable law

Food Prepped may reach out for additional information to determine sellers’ commitment to these ethical expectations, as well as Food Prepped’s Handmade Policy.
